Description

Domtar has joined forces with the Student Conservation Association -- an organization dedicated to developing tomorrow's conservation leaders -- to lead community service projects at Domtar sites across the US. Together, we will restore parks and other natural resources in locations where Domtar employees live and work.

Join Domtar and SCA on Saturday, June 11th to beautify and restore Plymouth, North Carolina's William Flowers Riverfront Park. Volunteers will work on a variety of restoration projects along the Roanoke River in downtown Plymouth to improve the health of the river and beautify this community green space for Plymouth's residents.

WHEN: Saturday, June 11, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

WHERE: The Roanoke River Lighthouse, West Water Street, Plymouth, NC 27962. Kickoff will take place at the covered pavilion next to the lighthouse. The lighthouse has a parking lot and there will be plenty of street parking available.

WHAT: Removing invasive plants and trash from along the riverfront, and maintaining boardwalks.

BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes.

PROVIDED: All volunteers will receive event t-shirts and reusable water bottles. Snacks, beverages, work gloves, tools, and lunch will be provided.
